Distressed Flannel | Love Story

Happy Monday! It’s my last week before my semester starts so I’ve been feeling a little more adventurous lately, trying to savor my last bit of summer. I love these overalls because they are super stretchy and effortless. I purchased them at Soto Boutique, but I found a very similar option from Forever21. I like pairing off the shoulder crop tops with these for two reasons. First, I like that the sleeves/ overall straps do hit the same place on the shoulder, and secondly, the crop top shows just a little bit of skin on the sides, so the overalls don’t look too young. This particular one was purchased at Love Story but I found two similar options for this, as well. I’m working to find an alternative for this amazing distressed flannel that I found at Love Story, but it could also be a really fun and easy DIY project. My sandals are my favorite leather sandals by Dr. Martens. I love these because of the quality and comfort. I used to have to buy new sandals each month of summer because they would just fall apart, but I know these will last me years and years.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Please share and spread the word. Have a great, productive week, and be sure to check out my back-to-school posts happening this weekend!

This day was probably the only time I wore all black the entire summer (LA is experiencing a heat wave, people. This is no joke.) This was an outfit I wore on a sushi date night and I just love the low back of this body suit. This bodysuit was purchased at Soto Boutique, but I found basically the same one online at Express, which is linked above. These jeans are my favorite high rise JustBlack jeans, and the boots are my favorite from Boohoo (are you at all surprised?) I love pairing more revealing tops or body suits with high rise jeans because it tones it down a bit and covers up a little more. Chokers have become an everyday habit for me, especially this wrap one.  This outfit is simple and consists solely of staple pieces in my wardrobe, which definitely saves my wallet a lot of heartache. Maybe I should’ve called this, “Badass on a Budget.”

I always love hearing feedback, good or bad (please spare my feelings though!) I’ve been working very hard and would love to know anything that you love or think I should improve on. Please feel free to share my blog on your social media, or with anyone who you think would like it! Thank you as always ❤

Oversized jean jacket | Hollister | very similar

Right now, I am completely in love with these wooden clogs from Free People, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t center this entire outfit around them haha. The color and detailing absolutely kill me, and they are pretty easy to walk in. The skirt I paired with it was purchased at Urban Outfitters Surplus store in Los Angeles (there were a bunch left) and really compliments the color of the clogs. I stuck to a very basic Forever21 v-neck and ended up throwing on my favorite denim jacket from Hollister. I got this jacket a few years ago, but it’s pretty easy to find just an oversized denim jacket anywhere, and I linked one above for you.

It’s definitely a weird transition time in fashion, especially in Southern California (it’s too hot to wear basically anything). This whiskey, kind of caramel brown is a great way to ease into fall. Close friends obviously know I love this color because I recently painted my room this color haha. Thank you as always for checking out my blog. Have an awesome day :*

Sunglasses | Urban Outfitters | very similar

Why am I wearing a jacket when it’s 90 degrees outside? I have no idea haha (“Do it for the blog!”) This is a very typical outfit of me, since I love the kind of tough, boyish look.  Led Zeppelin is one of my favorite bands, and I wear this shirt constantly. The jeans and jacket are both from Soto Boutique, but I linked similar options above. The brand of jean is JustBlack, which is by far my favorite brand of jeans, so if you can make it out to a Soto location, I highly recommend you try them out. I have probably 5 or 6 pairs of jeans by this brand alone because I’m addicted to them. I found an extremely similar bomber jacket from Charlotte Russe, but this one from Soto is reversible, so you can also wear it as just a black bomber jacket. My shoes are from Dr. Martens and the sunglasses were originally purchased at Urban Outfitters, but you can find Ray-Ban knock-offs almost anywhere these days. The bag just sold out on JustFab (I’ve had this thing since 2014. Crazy!) so I linked a similar one from Target. I love this outfit, but trust me, I took the jacket off immediately after these pictures haha. I hope you enjoyed! I’m already getting so excited to start doing some “back to school” posts, so expect a lot of new content coming soon. 😉

Thank you always

A Wedding Weekend

Hello! I am back from a lovely weekend away, and I’m going to do two outfits in one post!

Black lace dress | Free People | here

Blue dress | Free People | here

Shoes | Target | here

This weekend was spent with my boyfriend and his family for his cousin’s wedding. It was such a fun weekend and an absolutely beautiful wedding. My boyfriend, Max, was a groomsman so I attended the rehearsal dinner. For the dinner, I wore this black lace mini dress from Free People. I absolutely love the lace detailing near the neck and the slightly open back. The wedding took place at a ranch, and the ceremony was on a hill, so wedges were a must. These were really inexpensive from Target. I ended up having to make another hole for the buckle to make the ankle strap tighter, but it was an easy fix. Thankfully, my feet weren’t killing me at the rehearsal and the actual ceremony. For the ceremony, I wore this light blue dress with crochet detailing on the bust. The back of this dress is what sold me (I’m a sucker for open back.) Keep in mind, for this particular dress, the skirt is a bit fuller than it seems online. When I got the dress in the mail, I almost returned it for that reason, but it grew on me, and now I love it. Free People dresses, in my opinion, are so unique and pretty, and are worth the investment. Accessories were kept simple, mostly because I had forgotten that I had packed any jewelry at all haha.

Thank you all so much, I will resume to normal posting this week :*

Today I have another spur of the moment post that I threw together with my awesome co-worker, Shany. I am so into this new trend of slip dresses over white t-shirts. This dress was purchased at Soto Boutique, and actually has straps that criss-cross in the front. I tucked in the extra straps so it would look cleaner against a white crop top (the dress alone is stunning as well.) The white crop top is from Forever21. I prefer crop tops under dresses as opposed to regular length t-shirts. The shoes are my usual black boots from Boohoo.com (I promise I’ll give you a break from these in the next post!) Shany was kind enough to let me borrow her choker that she purchased at Soto Boutique, and I linked a similar one above. I’ve been really liking my hair in a messy, low ponytail lately because it keeps me cool and adds some romantic vibes to any look. You’ll probably see me wear this dress and crop top combination constantly because it’s pretty unexpected and a little daring.

In two days, I’ll be away for the weekend with my boyfriends family for his cousin’s wedding! I’m so excited for a bit of a vacation, and I’ll be sure to post what I wear.

Thank you so much, as always.

Peek-A-Boo

(The car belongs to my boyfriend Max 😉 )

I wasn’t planning to post anything today, but I really liked what I was wearing today and I got compliments at work, so I figured I should anyway. I purchased this dress a year ago at Love Story, but I found the exact dress at Urban Outfitters, which is linked above. My favorite part about this outfit is the little peek-a-boo of lace whenever I sit or when the dress comes up a bit. This also made it so much more comfortable by not having to worry about a short dress. These bike shorts were super inexpensive from Amazon. My shoes are just my favorite chunky heel boot from Boohoo.com. These are insanely comfortable and are the right amount of edgy. The choker is from a shop on Etsy, and the backpack is from Urban Outfitters. I linked a similar backpack above for you. I kept my hair in a messy low ponytail because this California heat is very real. This outfit is so “me” that I’ll most likely wearing this again (no shame in outfit repeating!)

Summer Stroll

I want to start off by saying that I am absolutely blown away from all of the support that I have received since officially launching and announcing my blog yesterday. No comment, text, or in-person congratulation goes unappreciated. Thank you all so much and I hope you continue to enjoy the content I post! ❤

Dress | Free People | here or here (Size small is out of stock on Nordstrom, but this dress honestly stretches out so much, I think a lot of people could wear the extra small. I wish I had gone down a size because the bust has stretched over time.)

Shoes | Qupid | very similarsimilar, and same shoe, different color

Necklace | Jahdora Gems | here

Today, I wore one of my favorite summer pieces. This Free People slip dress is lightweight and flattering, and is a great shape for my height. I am wearing a size small, but as previously stated, I would really recommend going down a size in this dress. The top part of the dress is very stretchy, but mine has stretched out over time and I wish I purchased an extra small. Just a bit of a warning if you were interested in this dress! Other than that, I absolutely love it. These olive green shoes were purchased at Soto Boutique in Los Angeles, but I linked three different similar options. This stunning necklace was one that I actually won in a giveaway a few months back! The Etsy shop is called JahdoraGems and they make such beautiful, unique necklaces. I always prefer more earthy jewelry over sparkly jewelry. Finally, what would a bohemian Free People look be without a messy braid? I finished off this look by braiding my hair into a tight fishtail braid, then started to pull at the braid until it was the right amount of messy (even messy hair takes effort for me.)

Thank you again to everyone who showed their love and support since the launch! I love you, and have a great day!

Band tees are one of my favorite, most versatile pieces. I normally cut them up, tie them in a knot, or roll up the sleeves. There are so many ways to style graphics to give your outfit a touch of punk. This particular one is a tank top for the band Lydia. I purchased this at their show in May, and did not realize it was not available online. However, the band The 1975 produces similar pieces of merchandise, so if you like this Lydia tank, I would check out the merchandise of The 1975 as well. This little mini skirt was purchased from Gypsy Warrior, and the same skirt is still available in black. I live in these chunky booties from Boohoo. They look great with dresses, jeans, shirts, and even overalls. Not to mention, they are incredibly comfortable. They’re going to be my essential shoe this fall and winter. This backpack is going to be my school bag this year and I purchased it at Urban Outfitters Surplus store in Sherman Oaks, where they had a lot of them left if you are in the area. I linked a similar backpack, also from Urban Outfitters, above for you. I love outfits like this for doing some work at Starbucks or running errands, when I want to feel a bit more put together.

In the world of retail, we are already moving into fall. Every week I unpack more and more burgundy and olive colored clothes, but I’m not ready, and neither is the California heat. This outfit is a little bit of festival style, with a ’70s inspired touch that I always love. I fell in love with this top because it reminded me of That ’70s Show (so it’s a must) and it’s so lightweight. Also deriving from the ’70s inspiration are the fringe bag and John Lennon sunglasses.  These overalls were purchased from the “Coachella Collection” at H&M, but I found very similar ones from Forever21 for the same price. These shoes were purchased at Love Story, a local boutique in LA, and I’ve searched far and wide for a similar alternative. I will continue looking as I couldn’t find a great look-a-like, but these serve as a perfect dupe for Balenciaga’s Ceinture Ankle Boot.

Stay cool, kids.
