Suede is really big this fall and I am all over it. I love playing with textures, and adding pieces of the same texture but different, cohesive colors takes it to the next level.  I’m actually wearing a really old black tunic from Forever 21 and a black skirt, but it mimics a black dress, so I linked a similar look above. I paired it with my suede over-the-knee boots from JustFab, and my new love- this awesome grey suede coat from Soto. I really like the combination of over-the-knee boots and an oversized coat, even if the weather doesn’t agree with me. This coat is going to be my go-to this fall and winter. I kept my accessories to cool tones to compliment the light grey, with an opalite necklace and a white lace choker. This is a pretty classy outfit so I threw my hair in a messy bun to tone it down a bit and give the look a more casual feel. I hope you enjoyed! Please feel free to like, follow, and share, and I will talk to you in the next post!

Thank you, as always!

Happy Saturday! One of the trends of summer that I’m continuing into fall is frayed-ankle jeans. These were actually a fun DIY project for me. I purchased these really inexpensive jeans from Forever21 and decided to mimic the uneven bottom look I have been seeing everywhere, especially done by very high end brands. To create your own, cut the bottoms of your jeans so that they hit a little bit below your ankle, but do not touch your heel. Make sure each leg of the jeans are cut evenly. Then, cut just the front of your jeans so that they are 2 inches shorter, but do not cut the side seam (and check again that each leg is even). I decided to distress them a little more. Remember, DIY jeans look much better after you wash them. And that’s it! I also love square neck satin tank tops, and I paired it with this grey chunky cardigan. I finished off the look with a simple black velvet choker and the new Dr. Martens Lite “Cavendish.” These shoes are so light and comfortable. They are perfect to show off the cool bottom of these jeans. Lately, I really like combining brighter blue jeans with black or grey on top. The different fabrics and textures in this simple outfit make it more dimensional and detailed.  Let me know what you think of this look!

Thank you as always!

Fall has officially started, and while the weather in Southern California needs to catch up, I’m still completely transitioning my wardrobe.  I purchased this loose knit sweater at Soto Boutique in the spring and I haven’t really been able to wear it until this month. It’s a tad big on my but I really like it’s oversized look, and the lace up in the back makes it so much more feminine. These distressed, ankle skinny jeans are from JustBlack, and they are a staple jean at Soto. They are so comfortable and flattering. These shoes were purchased a few years ago at Target and they still remain to be my favorite fall shoes. I love the cinnamon brown color, as it’s one of my favorite colors to wear during this time of year. I found similar products to all of these and linked them above.  There are certain staples that I keep for years and years. I love the feeling of finally being able to wear my favorite pieces of each season, and like many other people, fall is my favorite fashion season. Let me know what you think of the outfit, and as always, feel free to like, follow, and share! Stay tuned for my next post!

One of my favorite looks is achieved by pairing oversized, slouchy pieces with touches of lace. This top is so pretty and delicate, and I really like the contrast against this cardigan I stole from my boyfriend (sorry, Max). I made the look a little more casual by tucking the top into a pair of girlfriend jeans by BDG, and rolling up the hems. To finish the look, I slipped on these flats from JustFab. I wore this outfit to school, however, and learned my lesson to not wear these flats when I will be walking all day haha. Regardless, the lace up around the ankle and the lace in the camisole add romantic touches to this casual, slouchy outfit. For me, this is the perfect mix of feminine and relaxed.

My schedule has gotten pretty crazy with school and work, but I still try to blog with every chance I get, as it has grown to be a passion of mine, and has strengthened my love for fashion. I love creating content and being able to express my personal style. Thank you so much for your feedback and kind comments, they do not go unnoticed!

Boots | JustFab | here in brown (I can no longer find the black ones)/ similar here & here

Is anyone else in love with the over-the-knee boot trend like I am? My favorite way to wear them is with a t-shirt dress, little lace shorts underneath, and a thick choker. This particular t-shirt is actually one that I stole from my boyfriend, but it was purchased at Target. It’s very affordable and still in stock. I purchased the jacket from Love Culture when I still worked there, but there are so many olive green coats out there, and I linked two really cute options above. The boots are from JustFab and I couldn’t be happier with them. I’ve been a member of JustFab for 2 years now and I always love their products and customer service. Every month, they create a mini “boutique” for you based on how you answer a style survey, and members receive a discounted price on all their products. If you’re a shoe addict, you need this in your life! I think these just sold out in black, but I linked the same boots in brown, as well as other options. I was hesitant to try this style of boots because my legs, specifically my calves, are very short. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they fit perfectly and even flatter my legs. These are such a great statement piece to wear in the fall. I can’t wait to wear them with an oversized band tee, or with a sweater dress.

Let me know what you think of this outfit or the trend! Please feel free to follow and share! Thank you, as always!

Not Too Simple

For me, there is no better way to start the week than by rocking an edgy outfit to school or work. I feel my most put together when I’m wearing my chunky accessories and ankle booties. Feeling put together on Mondays makes me feel like I can take on the upcoming busy week.

This outfit consists solely of my absolute favorite/most worn pieces of my wardrobe. I started with a basic, slightly oversized striped tee. This is such an essential piece in my wardrobe because it is so versatile. Simple patterns are easy to incorporate to add dimension, and this top looks great with any shade of denim, with overalls, skirts, and is comfortable enough to sleep in (if you’re into that). Next are my favorite black jeans by JustBlack that we have seen many times. They are figure flattering, and black jeans, in my opinion, are essential for a fall/winter wardrobe. I’m also wearing one of my most worn pairs of black booties by the brand Qupid. Like I mentioned in my last post, I’ve worn these into the ground and they remain my favorite pair (holes and all). This necklace is my favorite statement piece I own. I rarely ever buy necklaces because I don’t have an organized storage system for them, and to be honest, I have probably 4 that I wear in rotation. This is the beauty of having staples that you can count on in your wardrobe: you don’t need a huge selection to achieve the look you are aiming for. Lastly, this studded leather jacket was purchased from Love Culture when I worked there. I couldn’t find the exact one, unfortunately, but I think a figure-flattering leather jacket is such a staple piece in a wardrobe. It’s perfect for adding that extra edgy touch to an outfit, which to me is a major confidence boost.

While I love shopping and expanding my wardrobe, I think it’s really important to find the reliable pieces that you love, and utilize those as much as you desire. I love trying to pair my favorite pieces with as many different looks as possible. This is also a bit gentler on your wallet! Thank you for checking out my blog! I hope you are inspired and continue to share my blog with anyone you know!

Thank you for all your love and support. It does not go unnoticed ❤

I don’t know about you, but I am so ready for colder weather. I am so excited for beanies, hoodies, scarves, sweaters… I pretty much want to skip ahead to the holiday season. To scratch the itch, I love wearing shorts with a pair of booties or a beanie. I also use this to transition between seasons. The unwritten rule is apparently, “You can’t wear white after Labor Day.” My excuse consists of two reasons: I took these pictures before Labor Day, and (don’t kill me) YOLO.

Okay but seriously, I just really loved this look I put together. It made me feel edgy and slightly closer to fall. These denim shorts were my dad’s old jeans that I cut into shorts and I love creating shorts this way. This really awesome, distressed white top is from Love Story, and the reason I got it is because of the open back. I couldn’t find another one like this, but I think this would be a very easy DIY project. I decided to go with a pop of color for the lace bralette, and mirrored sunglasses. My booties were my first purchase from Soto, and let me tell you, I’ve pretty much run them into the ground. I added the beanie as a transition piece in the outfit.

As always, I would love to hear your feedback, and I would love for you to share my blog with your friends! Have a great rest of your day and thanks for stopping by! ❤

Simple & Sporty

Top | Soto Boutique | similar

Joggers | Forever 21 | here

Shoes | Vans | here

Jacket | Soto Boutique | similar

I don’t normally go for a sporty look, but recently I’ve loved experimenting with joggers and creating cute, more put together outfits around them. This look is still very casual, but it is an example of how I make sweatpants look good enough to leave the house in. What drew me to this pair is their rich, golden amber color, which is one of my favorite colors. I pulled them up a little to fit high-waisted, and paired them with a black, cut-out crop top. I think form fitting crop tops are the best option to pair with joggers. I kept it simple with my classic “Sk8-Hi” Vans and a black bomber jacket. I love these looks for running errands or rolling out of bed to grab breakfast (like today). It’s a simple look, but the color of the joggers makes a huge difference. I can’t wait to try this out with an olive green or burgundy pair.

Let me know what you think of this look and please share with your friends! I started school this past week so life got a bit crazy, but I’m getting a handle on things and I already have other posts in the works, so I will be back to regular posting in no time. Thank you so much, as always! Stay tuned for more fall outfits!

3 Back to School Looks

Fall is right around the corner and it’s time for many of us to start hitting the books again. Today, I’m bringing you 3 different back-to-school outfit ideas! I hope you enjoy these looks, and I hope you get some ideas for changing up your look this year!

Outfit 1 of 3

Top | Brandy Melville | very similar

Jeans | BDG | here

Boots | Dr. Martens | here

Necklace | vintage

I am so into the “mom jean” trend, that I’ve pretty much worn these jeans since the day I got them. These are technically called “girlfriend jeans” on the Urban Outfitters’ website but they give off the same vibe (I have no idea what the difference is haha.) These are so comfy, and all BDG jeans are $20 off online and in store at Urban Outfitters right now, so they won’t break the bank. Of course, I am wearing the Led Zeppelin tee again, but I’ll give you a break from it after this post. I just love keeping things simple for school. My docs are my favorite shoes of all time, and they are the most comfortable for all the walking I do at school. The necklace adds some femininity, as well as edge, due to the tarnished metal.

Outfit 2 of 3

Jumpsuit | Misguided | here

Shoes | Vans | here

Denim Jacket | Forever21 | similar

I call this look the “Get to Class and Get Out” because its so easy to throw on and run to class. This is my favorite outfit of the 3. I mean, look at this jumpsuit! It’s thin sweatshirt material, sits off the shoulder, and has a drawstring and slits in the knees. What more could you want out of a cute jumpsuit? Maybe pockets haha. I personally might exchange mine for a smaller size since I just recently purchased it and I think it runs one size too big. It’s so perfect otherwise. I paired it with white perforated leather Vans and a really old denim jacket from Forever21. I linked a similar one above. This look would be amazing with two french or dutch braids. I tried but my hair was not having it on this day haha.

Outfit 3 of 3

Top | Brandy Melville | similar here & here

Blazer | Forever21 | similar here

Skirt | Free People | here  &  similar here

Shoes | Boohoo | here

Belt | Forever21 | here

Choker | Etsy | here

I love this outfit because it’s perfect for when you’re presenting in class, then going out after haha. All you have to do is take off the blazer and you’ve got a cute party outfit. I love looking a little nicer when I’m presenting in class, so I opted for really comfortable heeled boots, this Free People denim skirt, and a casual blazer. The dark green tank top adds a subtle pop of color, and the choker is an extra touch of mine. I am so much more relaxed during presentations if I am confident in what I am wearing. Looking sharp is a great way to feel more confident – “fake it ’til you make it.”

I worked really hard on this post and I really hope you liked the outfits! Have an awesome school year! Please remember to share with your friends! ❤ 🙂

Can’t Quit You

I know what you’re thinking: Another Led Zeppelin reference? Yes. I can’t help it.

Anyway, I always love pieces with a ’70s touch. This Led Zeppelin shirt and these detailed wooden clogs seemed like an obvious combination to me. I think it’s so much easier to mix black and brown if the black pieces are a little bit faded, so I opted for this faded black denim skirt from Free People, and a slightly distressed Zeppelin tee. Brandy Melville just took this shirt off of their website, but I found the same shirt with less distressing and linked it above. Of course, I needed a choker, because I am slightly obsessed. This tan one was purchased at Soto Boutique, but I linked a similar one above. The belt is originally meant to be worn around the hips, but I made a few more holes in the belt so I could wear it with high-waisted bottoms. Sometimes you just have to get creative and make it work haha. I almost wish I had braided my hair into two french braids because it would look so cute with this look. I went for my usual winged liner and dark lip because – Rock n’ Roll 😉
